Our close friends traveled from New Zealand to visit and explore NYC. From dawn to dusk, Hugo, age 7, kept up with adult-sized legs. Logging 20,000+ steps on many days, Hugo ended his exciting NYC days exhausted. After a day where he walked from Carroll Gardens through Brooklyn Bridge Park, and into Dumbo, I thought, if only I still had my sons’ scooters.That was how we navigated our busy Brooklyn days. Wouldn’t it be great if kids visiting BK had the chance to go further, like a true Brooklyn kid!

I’m a 3rd generation Brooklynite, raising the 4th generation with my husband in downtown Brooklyn. Skoot is my way of sharing Brooklyn and the rest of NYC with families, giving parents and kids a chance to enjoy all that Brooklyn and NYC have to offer, minus the dragging of tired feet!
